One to One Support Skills and Coaching :Empowering people to make choices and decisions

Aims and Outcomes

The programme has been developed to provide a learning experience tailored to meet the individual situations and needs of staff and managers. 

The programme is aimed at helping workers link their own ways of working and models of practice to clear outcome based interventions using a range of neuro linguistic programming tools and techniques.

The programme will contain a mix of well established frameworks and models as well as some newer approaches building on NLP practice. 
The programme can be delivered using on-line only, face to face or a blended approach to learning.

By the end of the programme participants will have had the opportunity to:

  • Consider the context and background of NLP and similar communication applications including research and evidence base
  • Explore and practice foundation thinking and skills in development and maintaining communication and rapport within support interventions. This will explore the context of delivery and core values linked to helping relationships. Examples of models looked at here will include Rogers, Egan, Heron and GROW
  • Develop a greater understanding of issues and challenges in communication and language including active listening, questioning, body language, paraphrasing, challenging to remove blind spots, window on the world- your frame of reference
  • Develop further understanding and practice using a range of intervention and helping models that make up NLP practice. This will include internal mapping, Modelling, Meta models, Rapport, Representational systems and techniques such as Anchoring, Future pacing, Re-framing, Ecological perspectives
  • Consider and apply other models of communication and support including, strength based, solution focused and motivational / change approaches and coaching
  • All of the above will be centred around the importance of reflective and developmental practice

Who is it for?

Staff who need an introduction or a refresher on communication skills and techniques with a focus on coaching and support using  NLP tools.

Delivery methods

A mix of input, practice application, skills practice, case studies and reflective practice.
