About the programme

Aims and Outcomes

The programme has been developed to provide a comprehensive and detailed learning experience ensuring that participants review, develop and evaluate practice in order to secure and maintain positive change for families and communities.

The programme will contain a mix of well established frameworks and models as well as some newer approaches building on models of whole family engagement, assessment, goal setting and change. 
Learners will have the option to complete the assessments in order to achieve a Level 4 qualification in
work with parents.
This programme can be delivered using an on-line only, face to face or a blended approach to learning.

By the end of the 7-session programme participants will have had the opportunity to:

                • Gain further insight into the Think Family agenda, NOS, other outcomes framework and whole family approach
                • Develop Personal qualities and motives, value based work and further develop self-awareness, feelings and behaviours
                • Understand and applying key principles of ‘Think Family’ including early intervention, Partnership working and building up trust, strength based approaches, transactional thinking and applied practice skills with developmental feedback
                • Understanding barriers to engagement and the complexity of family life including families withmultiple and complex needs linked to working in partnership with other agencies.
                • Establish and practice the skills of developing the relationship using clear ethical andprofessional boundaries to agree how the work will develop including safeguardingresponsibilities.
                • Use clear communication skills to agree in partnership with families the change agenda through arange of assessment of needs and the development of clear family goals for change including
                • motivational, coaching and behaviour change
                • Review on-going work with families to ensure effective outcomes are maintained.
                • Use reflective practice and supervision models to maintain outcome focused.
                • Use Evidence Based practice models e.g. attachment, parenting style, child development, teenage transitions, parental conflict
                • Develop greater community awareness, informal networks, partnership and team connections
                • Help families maintain clear goals and motivation to achieve lasting change including circle ofsupport, signposting, partnership working resilience and relapse
                • Exiting work with the family and reviewing outcomes achieved

          A mix of input, practice application, skills practice, video clips, case studies and reflective practice
